Delavau is a leading formulator and manufacturer, developing innovative, evidence-based solutions and new products in over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceuticals, vitamin and mineral supplements (VMS), and nutritional foods. Delavau has vast experience in developing and launching products and formulations, and provides a full suite of manufacturing capabilities. The company manufactures a wide range of granulated, blended, and tableted calcium, VMS, and OTC remedies for the nutritional and pharmaceutical industries. Delavau focuses on offering comprehensive products and services, and is a valued partner in outsourced manufacturing and research and development operation for its customers. Delavau’s deep connections with leading nutrition scientists and universities (in areas such as mineral bioavailability, calcium metabolism, bone health) keep us at the forefront of cutting-edge research.

Delavau has grown from its roots in pharmaceuticals to become a leader in calcium-based products, focused on building solutions for unmet consumer needs, including new flavors, flavor-masking, new formulations, and greater health benefits. Joseph William Smith Delavau founded Delavau in 1847 as a corner drug store selling proprietary whooping cough formula. In the 1930s, Delavau was acquired by a family enterprise that transitioned the business from a producer of cough syrups to a manufacturer of pharmaceuticals in a solid dosage form. In the 1970s, Delavau began manufacturing vitamins, minerals and herbal supplements for large pharmaceutical and nutrition companies, with a core competency in calcium-based products. In the early 1990s, Delavau successfully increased its capabilities and developed a unique granulation process that produced substantial benefits for customers. And in 2012, Delavau was acquired by Mississippi Lime, one of the largest suppliers of calcium-based chemicals in the United States.
