The American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and the City of Houston invite health care specialists to the upcoming World Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine Conference in Texas.
American Botanical Council Chief Science Officer Stefan Gafner, PhD, will give a presentation on Adulteration of Botanical Ingredients and Analytical Technologies to Determine the Authenticity of Herbal Material.
The conference, to be held Oct. 31 – Nov. 2, 2014, will take place at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Houston and will feature Andrew Weil, Zhang Boli, Kiiko Matsumoto, Andy Ellis, Marilyn Allen Jake Fratkin and more.
The event will feature a Texas Night Gala Banquet on Nov. 1 from 6-11 p.m. and will include fine dining, entertainment, dancing, live auction and door prizes, according to officials, noting all proceeds go to funding of scholarships, community services, and research in Oriental and integrative medicine, as well as wellness management.
The intellectual symposium is sponsored by the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS) and the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, according to officials. WFAS is the Non-Government Organization with an official relationship with the World Health Organization regarding acupuncture and is made up of national acupuncture bodies with member representatives from over 50 countries.
