Women In Nutraceuticals (WIN) has announced the launch of the WIN Entrepreneurship Committee.
This committee was formed primarily to address WIN’s strategic objective to increase the amount of funding for, and the number of, women-owned ventures. This will be accomplished by designing and implementing a structured entrepreneurial development path that addresses various stages of business growth, and will strengthen participants’ preparedness for fundraising, entrepreneurial management and exit strategies. The work of the Entrepreneurship Committee will be organized around the following Sub-Committees:
- Development of Entrepreneurial Skills: Create a comprehensive learning program through workshops, webinars and resources aimed at developing the essential skills to succeed, such as business planning, financial management, protection of intellectual properties, and pitch preparation.
- Focus on the Entrepreneur: Design programs featuring entrepreneurs to share their journeys, enabling them to build networks, develop resources and market their products.
- Group Coaching: Conceptually, groups of three to five entrepreneurs at similar stages of business growth will be matched together and assigned a coach drawn from the Entrepreneurial Advisory Council (EAG), enabling them to learn from each other as well as their coach. The EAG will be made up of a network of industry experts from financial institutions, private equity firms, early-stage investors and seasoned entrepreneurs.
- “The Ask” Prep: Coaches will prepare vetted entrepreneurs for seeking funding and assist them in finding appropriate services within the industry.
- Seminar and Pitch Program: Organize a flagship pitch event, or partner with existing programs, where female entrepreneurs at different funding stages can showcase their businesses.
- Investors Club: Create a group of investors interested in investing in women-owned businesses, providing a network to discuss investment possibilities, partnership development and opportunities to pool capital.
The Entrepreneurship Committee is inviting:
- Female entrepreneurs at all stages who feel they can benefit from this program
- Seasoned advisors/coaches for the EAG
- Sub-committee members to provide the creativity and brain-power to develop and implement the work plan.
- Leadership to harness the brain-power at the Committee and Sub-Committee level.
