Alan Yengoyan is the president and CEO of NutriScience Innovations. Yengoyan has also served as the executive director, co-CEO and a Board Member of another fast-growth privately owned consumer nutrition brand, Professional Supplements (ProSupps) LLC, and has served several of the world’s leading consumer brands at McKinsey & Co.
NIE: NutriScience recently acquired XSTO Solutions. What does this acquisition mean for the company going forward?
Yengoyan: The acquisition of XSTO Solutions by NutriScience marks an exciting step forward, significantly expanding the company’s portfolio of science-backed ingredients across a broader range of health benefit categories. With this acquisition, NutriScience is now able to offer more targeted solutions for areas, such as bone health, cardiovascular support, digestive health and healthy aging. This further strengthens the company’s commitment to delivering clinically supported, innovative ingredients that meet the evolving needs of the marketplace. Additionally, this supports NutriScience’s ongoing commitment to expanding U.S. manufacturing capabilities, ensuring greater supply chain security, meeting the highest quality standards, and reducing lead times.
NIE: The company showcased MålTor at SupplySide West. What is MålTor and what benefits does it offer?
Yengoyan: MålTor is a patent pending novel taurine-L-malic acid complex that supports muscle health, energy production and overall resilience. This makes it ideal not only for sports nutrition but also to support healthy aging. As we age, maintaining muscle strength and mass, reducing fatigue and promoting faster recovery are key to staying active and independent. Yengoyan: MålTor is supported by a recent pilot human clinical study showing it can reduce muscle soreness and help preserve muscle strength after exercise. Participants taking MålTor experienced a significant improvement in pain threshold and better recovery compared to the placebo. These results highlight MålTor as a unique solution for muscle health and recovery, ideal for those focused on peak performance, active individuals and those focused on healthy aging.
KeraGLO is a highly bioavailable form of hydrolyzed keratin that is supported by a new human clinical study showing it works quickly to deliver significant improvements in skin, hair and nail health at both 500 mg and 1,000 mg daily doses. Participants experienced benefits as early as day 45, with continued improvement through day 90. The results demonstrate that even the lower 500 mg dose it effectively supports healthier skin, hair and nails, making KeraGLO a versatile option for daily beauty-from-within formulations.
Finally, we recently completed a large-scale clinical trial on our innovative, next generation GI (gastrointestinal) support ingredient ButyraGen and we’ll have exciting new science coming shortly.
