Albion Minerals®

The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) has announced the agenda for The Workshop: CRN’s Day of Science taking place Wednesday, Nov. 6, in tandem with The Conference: CRN’s Annual Symposium for the Dietary Supplement Industry, Nov. 6–9, at the Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad, CA.

This year, The Workshop is comprised of two thematic sessions: 1) Optimizing Nutrition to Promote Healthy Aging; and 2) Advances in the Development of Nutrition Research Tools. Among the distinguished experts on the agenda are Simin Meydani, DVM, PhD, and José M. Ordovás, PhD, from Tufts University’s Jean Mayer USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) Human Nutrition Center on Aging. Meydani will discuss the impact of nutrition interventions on healthy aging. Other speakers in the healthy aging session will examine specific nutrients such as nicotinamide riboside for metabolic stress and vitamin K in bone and cardiovascular health, as well as other topics. Ordovás will discuss the role of genetics in phenotypic flexibility during the session on advances in research. Also of note in the research session is speaker Mario Ferruzzi, PhD, of North Carolina State University, who will discuss research tools to assess the effect of phytonutrients on the microbiome. Other research topics include mobile-based diet tracking and emerging technologies for measuring nutrient status.

Attendees may register for The Workshop: CRN’s Day of Science on its own or choose to attend both The Workshop and The Conference at a special package rate. There is also an option to attend The Workshop and add on just the first day of The Conference. (Registration for The Conference only is also available.)
