Paul C. Ross, a resident of Millbrook, NY and formerly New York City, passed away at his home on Dec. 22, 2021. He was born in New York on Jan. 4, 1931 to George and Diana Ross. He attended Friends Seminary in New York and graduated from Oberlin College in Ohio, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English.
Ross was a true ad man of the 1960’s, working for several top New York ad agencies. Ross’ most famous line of copy, “Manly yes, but I like it too,” informed the brand positioning for Irish Spring soap from its first introduction and for many years thereafter.
But Ross found his greatest successes as an entrepreneur, co-founding or founding several companies in the natural products industry beginning in the mid-1970’s. Bioforce USA, a company that markets, sells and distributes high-quality consumer brands from Europe, still remains under family control and management.
Ross was predeceased by his wife, Kitty, and is survived by a daughter, Abigail Ross Sioussat, and a son-in-law, Pierce Stewart Sioussat of Tannersville, NY, and by a grandson, Alton Hale Sioussat of Richmond, VA. They would like to offer special recognition to Barbara Marinelli, with whom Paul spent the past two years and whose love and companionship was a source of great joy for Paul and a source of deep gratitude for the family.
Arrangements are private and have been entrusted to Allen Funeral Home, Millbrook.
