FoodPharma (Santa Fe Springs, CA) announced it attained NSF/ANSI 455-2 GMP (good manufacturing practice) certification for its functional food production facility.
“This is another milestone for our company in our ongoing commitment to quality,” said Brent Eck, CEO. “Trust in product safety and efficacy is essential for success in our industry and the NSF/ANSI 455-2 GMP certification is the industry’s gold standard for quality. At FoodPharma, we’re committed to delivering exceptional quality to our customers.”
The NSF/ANSI 455-2 GMP standard was created to reinforce public safety within the dietary supplement industry by a joint committee of representatives from regulatory, industry and standards development. It incorporates industry benchmarks, including GMPs, regulatory requirements and retailer quality requirements to ensure trust, safety and quality across the dietary supplement supply chain from raw materials to finished products.
With the NSF/ANSI 455-2 GMP certification, processes are in place to mitigate processing errors, and the risk of contamination and/or cross contamination. According to the company, FoodPharma customers can be assured:
- Products are manufactured to the highest quality and safety standards using industry best practices.
- Rigorous quality protocols are followed in every step of the manufacturing process from raw material procurement to final product packaging.
- Facilities and equipment are hygienically maintained for optimal product quality.
“With this certification, we’re positioned to expand innovation across our artisan confectionery product lines, which include bars, soft chews, ultrachews and cups,” said Eck. “Our proprietary plant-based delivery systems offer consumers a convenient way to get an effective dose of functional ingredients, they actually enjoy taking”
In addition to the NSF certification, the FoodPharma contract manufacturing facility is FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) and Health Canada registered, as well as kosher, halal, vegan and gluten free.
