NIE: Gencor has conducted a number of studies on its ingredients. Please discuss its recent findings.

Joo: We pride ourselves on our dedication to clinical research for all our products and are thrilled with the outcomes. In 2024 thus far, Gencor has received publication of seven gold-standard clinical research studies on our two award-winning ingredients, Levagen+, our branded palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) ingredient, and ActivAMP, our novel Gynostemma pentaphyllum extract.

Six of the seven studies were focused on Levagen+, demonstrating its potential for overall health and well-being, particularly in immune health, exercise performance, cognitive function, skin health and mitigating seasonal allergies and supporting migraine relief.

ActivAMP also revealed groundbreaking results in its published human clinical data, demonstrating its ability to improve aerobic performance by four percent. To put this into perspective, the Nike Alphaflys running shoe was banned before the Tokyo Olympics due to its peer-reviewed studies claimed the shoe served up a 4 percent increase in running efficiency and an estimated 3.4 percent in speed. Nike has since released an altered version, the Vaporfly, which adheres to the new regulations. Undeniably a natural botanical that can improve performance to similar levels is a game changer.

NIE: In 2023, the company announced that it was sponsoring cricket player Danni Wyatt. What do partnerships like this mean for the company?

Joo: We have a deep commitment to sports and active nutrition—not only from an ingredient perspective, but also from personal passion—and this sentiment is shared throughout Gencor. Supporting female equity and leadership is also of great importance to our company and sponsoring various individuals, teams and companies’ to further educate, promote and create business development opportunities, all help to achieve their ambitions.

NIE: Gencor’s roots are in ayurveda. How does the company incorporate ayurveda when developing its ingredients?

Joo: Ayurveda has supported individuals’ health needs through natural botanicals for thousands of years. We respect the wisdom inherent in ayurveda and combine its rich history with rigorous scientific research to deliver personalized nutritional solutions on a global scale.

NIE: Quality assurance seems to be important to the company. What are some of the ways that Gencor adheres to these processes?

Joo: Gencor botanicals are grown under the close supervision of our technical team and according to strict quality-assurance processes. For instance, our herbs are always dried in the shade to maintain their phytochemical content. All our extracts comply with government laws, and our single-herb standardized extracts are free from all known sources of contamination (including other herbs). Our ingredients are safe, high-quality, efficacious and sustainably harvested and manufactured.
