Vitaquest International has announced that it has agreed to lease a new manufacturing site in Parsippany, NJ, nearby the company’s headquarters in West Caldwell. The decision will increase manufacturing, warehousing, product development and laboratory space by more than 50 percent, making Vitaquest one of the largest companies of its kind in the United States. Manufacturing space in the new facility will be converted to support multiple operations, including Pharmacy, Blending, Encapsulation and Compression departments. The company expects the new facilities to be staffed and operational by early Summer of 2020, after extensive quality audits to ensure uninterrupted supply of top-quality products to its customers.

According to Patrick Brueggman, CEO of Vitaquest, the expansion is motivated by recent significant growth and a desire to better service customers. “Over the last several years, Vitaquest has grown at an exceptional pace as we have continued to build our business and provide our customers with the absolute best service available in the nutraceutical industry,” he said. “We owe this success to our dedicated and hard-working employees who have shown time after time why Vitaquest is the most innovative and outstanding company in our industry. This is the most significant investment in the history of our company and testifies to the bright future that Vitaquest envisions for both our employees and our customers.

Vitaquest offers its customers custom-designed nutritional products. The company’s product development and manufacturing capabilities support this customized approach, working with customers from ideation and product formulation to pilot trials and full production at large scale. The company makes more than 4,000 custom products each year.

In the area of tablets, Vitaquest produces more than 2 billion doses annually. These include chewables, sustained & extended release, quick-melts and effervescent tablets—with custom color coatings and shapes available.

Vitaquest also specializes in two-piece hard shell capsules, including gelatin, vegetarian and vegan capsules, as well as specialties such as delayed release, acid-resistant and organic-compliant capsules.

Vitaquest is a market leader in the manufacture of probiotic supplements, having been one of the first companies to successfully design, manufacture and deliver a shelf-stable probiotic supplement. Today, the company produces significant volumes of finished probiotic products per year. Vitaquest also formulates powdered nutritional products, for a wide range of categories and markets.

As a full-service commercialization partner, Vitaquest offers packaging options in virtually every form seen on the market. These include bottles, jars, unit dose pouches, stick packs, vials, blister cards, gusset bags and multipacks. The company has a history of innovation in the development of new filling and packaging systems.

According to Rick Handel, senior vice president of commercial operations for Vitaquest, the company is working on multiple fronts to be the most innovative, highest quality and best-executing company in the industry. “The move to build these new facilities comes at an exciting time for our company, as we have just received FSSC 22000 Food Safety Certification, which is a testament to our ability to manage quality at an industry-leading level,” he said. “We look forward to offering our customers faster turnaround with state-of-the-art innovation and flawless execution on their products—so we continue to deliver what’s next.”
